From Twitter:
“RT @daniellefrancis The next person who says “in these tough economic times” gets a pencil shoved in their eye. Who wants to play?! “
Laughed and cried at this tweet. Funny, yes. But also an important trend to explore. It’s serious. What does this mean for our community? Our brands? Our product plans?
Media companies are not the only companies struggling. There are currently only six US. Corporations with a AAA credit rating. Chuck recently shared a list of relevant business books. One of these I am currently listening to, Good to Great- “Why Some Companies Make the Leap and Other’s Don’t” by Jim Collins. Jim and team spent five year and over 15,000 man hours researching for the book and came up with 11 companies that qualify for his title. So, these companies models should be copied, don’t you think? Well, one of those companies is Circuit City, which recently filed for bankruptcy. Is their a perfect model? No. That is why we must create our own to succeed.
Exactly Greg. Sometimes companies get so caught up in the right answer or model, they analyze themselves right into stagnation.
